Sally Barros

Urban Planner

Sally studied urban planning at MIT and international studies at UC Berkeley, focusing on sustainable development issues in Latin America. After 20 years of roaming the globe from Brazil to Sweden to Chile, working in journalism and forestry management under the Forest Stewardship Council protocol, Sally settled back into the United States in 2001. She landed a job in her hometown with the City of San Leandro as an urban planner and has been striving to inject the subjects of green building and energy efficiency into the planning practice there ever since. She is currently Principal Planner with responsibility for management of project (“current”) planning staff.
